Dear Fellow Wisconsinites and members of the Constitution Party of Wisconsin –
Welcome to our NEW website! This project has been the object of our attention for the past year, and represents a significant investment in our public identity and in our preparations for renewed and invigorated political activity in the State of Wisconsin in the coming years. Our Party is growing. As it becomes clear to Conservatives across our State and Nation that the majority parties have become hopelessly corrupt, they are, more and more, seeking alternatives. Interest in our Party, as measured by both inquiries and membership growth, has been on the rise as a result. Recognizing this, our Party leadership determined in Fall of 2022 to develop, not just a new website, but a communications platform, that will serve as our primary source and means of communication with the public, and enable us to reach targeted audiences with substantive content on a regular basis. In order to accomplish this, we engaged the services of a Wisconsin-based creative and marketing firm to design a new logo, and to develop a new website that will integrate with communications services, including social media, and position us for greater communications potential.
Of course, this was a professional development effort, and, thus, was not free of charge. So, in January of 2023, in an effort to solicit donations toward this effort, our Party made an appeal to our membership in the form of an article recommending books – an article that did more than merely list and describe books, but explained the forces against which we are contending, which are responsible for the social mayhem that surrounds us, and for what truly appears to be the collapse of Western Civilization occurring before our eyes; in doing so, this article made plain our dire predicament and the truly herculean task that lies before us. It certainly seemed to resonate with our membership, as response to it was truly beyond our expectations, financing our ability to complete this project.
This article, simply titled, Book Recommendations, can be downloaded and read by clicking this link. Please read it, see if it resonates also with you, and if so, consider whether you might make a donation. While this development effort is complete, ongoing hosting and maintenance costs remain, as will costs associated with actually making use of the communications capabilities we are now enabled to use. The more funding we have for these efforts, the more widely our political perspectives can be disseminated, and the more interest in our Party we can attract – positioning us for greater viability as a Party and as a potent political voice in Wisconsin.
Of particular interest to our members and the general public, ought to be our new logo. It is composed of some recognizably historic, symbolic elements, and some elements that may not be so historic nor altogether recognizable, yet which could all use some explanation.
The colors, gold/yellow and blue, were taken from the prominent colors of our State flag.
In the background, of course, is an outline of the State of Wisconsin, itself, the meaning of which should be obvious to everyone who sees it.
Immediately on top of this background is prominently and centrally placed the Cross of Christ. This is because the Constitution Party of Wisconsin refers to itself as a Christian political party. Our political platform prominently acknowledges the name of Jesus. We are neither ashamed of His name, nor are we ashamed to represent Him by including the crux immissa (latin cross) in our logo – which is our public identity. But it should be noted that there is a twofold emphasis to its use in our logo:
first, is to draw attention to the potent facts of Christ birth, life, death, and resurrection, His payment for the sins of the world, and His offer of forgiveness and salvation, before God, to all who believe;
second, is to emphasize the radical change in the world that resulted from these facts, to have utterly transformed a ruthless and sophisticated pagan world and become the sine qua non of Western Civilization – that without which Western Civilization could not be.
The Cross of Christ not only has vital religious significance, but profoundly important cultural and political significance, as well. To the extent that other political parties shun any public association with the significance of Christ, whether by name or by symbol, is the extent to which they, to their shame, reject public association with Christianity, and with both the past and the future of Western Civilization.
It will also be noticed that the Cross of Christ serves to divide our logo into four quadrants, in which are placed additional symbolic elements.
In the upper left quadrant is the symbol of an Eagle in flight – the symbol of Liberty and of our Nation that is recognized all over the world. Make no mistake, over the history of mankind, our Nation sits at the pinnacle of cultural achievements, and it is a distinct achievement and emblem of the greatness of Western Civilization.
In the lower left quadrant is the symbol of the Tablets of the Ten Commandments overlaid with the Scales of Justice, to emphasize that the Rule of Law is founded upon the “Moral Order” established by God, as summarized in the Ten Commandments. This is an ancient and familiar symbol of Western Civilization, reminding us that the Greaco-Roman forms of thought on which our ideas of reality and concepts of rational order rely, are given the life they continue to have by distinctively Judeo-Christian content.
In the lower right quadrant is a symbol that is well known in the Pro-Life community: the symbol of Precious Feet. This symbol was taken from a photograph of an aborted fetus, taken in 1970 by Dr. Russell Sacco, a Kenosha, WI, native and a practicing Roman Catholic, who was intent upon investigating the allegations of abortionists who claimed that an unborn baby was just a “blob of protoplasm.”
Needless to say, they were, and remain, wrong. Not only is an unborn baby a human, an unborn baby is a person, imbued with all of the rights of personhood, including the protection of society from crimes against the innocent. But our use of this symbol goes far beyond the isolated crime of abortion: it subsumes all of the issues of human rights and human dignity – from the right to life, to the reception of a child into a loving family, to the preparation of that child for productive citizenship in civilized society, and finally of the right of the aged to a peaceable and dignified death in the company of their loved ones, and of those to whom they have entrusted their spiritual care.
Finally, in the upper right quadrant is a ring of seven stars, reminiscent of the ring of thirteen stars in our Nations first battle flag, which represented the original thirteen colonies. The seven stars in our logo, however, are meant to represent the Seven Fundamental Principles on which our Party, our State, and our Nation, depend. Those Principles are summarized as follows:
Life: Right to life for all human beings: from fertilization to natural death.
Gun Ownership: A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.
Personal Liberty: Constrain the Government to its enumerated powers so that it does not impede the Liberty of the People whom it serves.
Family: Family is the Bedrock of a healthy Society. It is imperative that government maintains a favorable position to the divinely instituted nuclear family, not one that leads to its destruction.
Property Rights: Each individual possesses the right to own and steward personal property without government burden.
Originalist Interpretation: Interpret the Founding Documents according to the meaning originally intended by the Founding Fathers.
Defense of National and State Sovereignty: Defend the U.S. borders against invasion. Restore the Tenth Amendment limitations on U.S. Government power.
At the bottom of our logo is the date, 1992. This is the year in which our state Party was founded. It is significant that this date is placed near the “Precious Feet” emblem, in the southeastern part of the State, since our Party was an outgrowth of the “Rescue Movement” which had reached it’s climax in Wisconsin, in that region of the State, at about that time. The issues of Life remain irrevocably prominent in our Party and its platform.
