Conservatives Giving Up the Ship While Fighting the Transgender Movement

The most energizing issue in the conservative camp is fighting against the sexualization of our children in the transgender movement.  However, a troubling conservative compromise is dooming their efforts to failure.

The Energy of the Concerned Public Is Unmistakable.

  • There has been a flurry of new laws against men in girls’ or women’s sports. More than 30 states have explored bills to address the issue.  Ohio made headlines recently when their state legislature overrode Governor Mike DeWine’s veto of the “Saving Adolescents from Experimentation Act.”
  • The backlash against Budweiser for their Bud Light Dylan Mulvaney promotion was swift, with the company losing $4 Billion in Market Capitol between March 31 and April 12, 2023. Some former fans have even destroyed their stock of strange brew with live ammunition.  It cost the jobs of the senior marketing executive behind the promotion (and her boss).
  • Matt Walsh created a sensation with his What Is a Woman Walsh has rightly considered this a movement to be “at war” with.

Normalizing the Homosexual Community

However, at the same time, conservatives are increasingly giving their support to and normalizing the homosexual community.  They have found the LGB letters of the alphabet soup palatable.  It is the T that is getting stuck in their craw.  How much longer until they are able to choke that one down as well and move on to the next big thing?

This shows a key problem with Republicanism and conservatism.  They are content to preserve the status quo while standing vehemently against the latest deviation from the norm.  They conveniently forget that the status quo was the abominable deviation from the norm that they railed against 20 years ago.  Their actions speak, “Rally around us folks.  We know what we are doing, and we really mean it this time!”  Sadly, in this case, the previous abomination is the one that led us to the doorstep of the current one.

So Ridiculous

Donald Trump has promised to ban men in women’s sports if reelected.  In a rally early in 2022, Trump said, “We will ban men from participating in women’s sports . . . So ridiculous.”  By the end of 2022, however, only days after the passage of the “Respect for Marriage Act” which brought nationwide gay “marriage” into formal law, the former president hosted a gala for the “Log Cabin Republicans” at his Mar-a-lago Club.  Lauding the 45-year-old pro-homosexual lobbying group, Trump pledged his support by saying, “We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard.  With the help of many of the people here tonight in recent years, our movement has taken incredible strides, the strides you’ve made here is incredible.”

During Tucker Carlson’s time on Fox, he spoke often and strongly against the transgender movement with his trademark biting satire and mockery.  However, he featured Jaimee Mitchell, the founder of Gays Against Groomers, to speak against the movement as well.  The implied point is that the grooming of children by the transgender movement is so far beyond the pale that even reasonable homosexuals oppose it.  In this way, the reasonable homosexuals appear as the “normal” people and the groomers are the abnormal ones.  Tucker would frequently throw out the libertarian mantra that “whatever you do in private (or as consenting adults) is fine, just stay the **** away from the children.”

In the Spring of 2023, the Wisconsin GOP accepted a pre-election “boost” from “conservative” homosexual activist Scott Presler.  He traveled the state giving grassroots training.  He even appeared with Supreme Court candidate Dan Kelly, a favorite of the conservatives in the run up to the April elections.  The Fond du Lac Republican chapter was rather unique in telling Presler “no thanks” when he offered to help in their area.  Most would never dream of turning away such a political gift, though shrouded in rainbow wrapping paper.

Those in the conservative movement holding out the left hand of friendship to the homosexual community while giving a stiff arm to the trans community with the right arm do not realize that sexual perversion is a continuum.  It is like a hungry beast that demands to be fed.  Without standing on universal and timeless Biblical principles, we lose the moral standard by which to judge right and wrong

and are only left with pragmatic arguments with which to argue over the degree to which we will allow the wrong to encroach on the right.  We will not cage the beast, but we will quibble over the length of the chain by which it is bound.  Later, such pundits will lament over the fact that the peg that holds the chain has been pulled loose, and the beast is running rampant.  And this is only a temporary dirge before the next distraction comes along.

This law of nature, being co-eval with [having the same age as] mankind and dictated by God himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other.  It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this; and such of them as are valid derive all their force, and all their authority, mediately or immediately, from this original.

I Don’t Hate Gay People

Former SNL comedienne Victoria Jackson went viral in a video clip of her speech to a Tennessee city council meeting over a planned gay pride parade.  Her short speech began, “God hates sodomy.  He hates homosexuality — he said it’s an abomination.”  She clarified that God’s moral standard applies to sexual immorality of all kinds, including fornication, adultery, etc.  She then proceeded to quote the Bible to back up these statements.  Speaking of the experience, she said that it seems that millions of people agree with her, but of course, she also heard from those who did not.  One messaged her, “You shouldn’t hate gay people.”  Her reply was, “I don’t. Did they hear a word I said?”

The conservative movement seems to live under the notion that we are beyond the time to point out the wrongness of homosexuality per-se.  They demand that we focus only on the “winnable” battles like the sexualization of children and keeping men out of women’s locker rooms, etc.  Giving moral cover to one variety of sexual immorality in the process and fearing to use the true objective standard of God’s word leaves us fighting a battle on our enemies’ terms.  This is never a good strategy for success.
