The Green New Deal was released in the U.S. House of Representatives February 7, 2019 by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA). This fourteen-page resolution “recognizes the duty of the Federal Government to create a Green New Deal” and pushes for transitioning the United Stated to use 100% green renewable energy by 2030.
